Project Description
A lot of commercial buildings have flat roofs with very little slope. They often have TPO membranes that are still under warranty. It is important for property owners that these warranties remain intact.
The solution to this problem is one we have implemented many times. A ballasted system will keep the system in place even in high winds, while leaving the roof membrane warranty intact. Heat-weld options, while less common, may also be an option that we will consider during the design phase.
The Results and Details
This ballasted system in Texas is over 300 kW and is compromised of the following:
- 638 Qcell PV Modules
- Unirac ballasted roof mount system
- Over 446,000 kWh of renewable energy produced in the 1st Year
- System averages 7 lbs psf and can withstand 115 mph winds
