Ground mounts when optimized correctly, can be the most efficient way to install solar. We optimize row spacing, factoring in the trade-off between usable space and shading until we have the right solution.
This large ground mount system in the Midwest did exactly that, optimized the amount of space allotted for the arrays to yield a very sizable offset that our customer was very pleased with. In addition, we centralized the inverters and configured the wire runs to keep costs low. This project also received a federal grant that paid for half of the install costs.
The Results and Details
The 450 kW ground mount system is compromised of the following:
- Optimized row design spacing
- Over 946 efficient Qcell PV modules
- 651,781 kWh of renewable energy produced
- Value engineered electrical design saved thousands on wire cost
